Tumor ablation is often used as an alternative to surgery for certain cancers that may be found in the liver or other soft tissue. The Covidien Cool-tip™ RF ablation system and Cool-tip™ RF ablation system E Series* offer patients with unresectable liver lesions an effective treatment option with few side effects or complications.
Using pulsed radiofrequency current, the Covidien Cool-tip™ RF ablation system quickly heats and ablates large volumes of tissue, destroying it in minimal time.
RF ablation procedures can be performed in open surgery, percutaneously or laparoscopically, depending on the physician’s discretion.
